Mr Haigh is the co-founder and joint managing partner of Stirling Haigh. Mr Haigh focuses on civil and criminal justice, including defending those accused of white collar crime such as fraud, bounced cheques and debts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the wider Gulf Countries. He also works on defending extradition requests and removing Interpol red notices. Mr Haigh is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England (non practising), since 2002. Mr Haigh has a wealth of experience in corporate, commercial, civil and criminal law across the Middle East and the UK. In recognition of his ground breaking work in the legal field, Mr Haigh has been nominated numerous times by “The Lawyer” and “Legal Week” for general counsel of the year in the Middle East and the UK, for which he was a finalist. Previously, Mr Haigh was the managing director of Leeds United Football Club, Mr Haigh was responsible for overseeing all business operations at the Championship club. Mr Haigh lived in Dubai for 8 years, was formerly Deputy CEO and General Counsel of a Dubai-based Islamic investment bank. Mr Haigh also worked at Barclays Wealth, Bank of New York Mellon and practiced law at DLA Piper and Akin Gump. Mr Haigh is a keen philanthropist. He was previously an Ambassador for international charity Make a Wish, for whom he trekked 250km across the Artic to raise funds. Recently Mr Haigh set up “Du Justice” a not for profit organisation to pay for legal representation and translation for those in the UAE that cannot afford it.
